All About Liz Hochberger

Liz Hochberger was born on Long Island, New York, and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii when she was 12 years old. Her ties to the Boston area come from her mother's side of the family. Liz's mother grew up, one of 11, in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Liz often visited her relatives who live in various areas in and around Boston.

Liz went to Maryknoll High School in Honolulu, Hawaii and then moved to upstate New York where she graduated from Skidmore College. It was at Skidmore College that Liz met her husband, Fred. After graduating from Skidmore College, Liz went to Japan to teach English. She lived in Japan for 10 years!! Liz and Fred have 4 children. The 3 girls were born in Tokyo, and their son was born in Hong Kong. Yes... after living in Japan, they moved to Hong Kong where they lived for 7 years. The 4 children attended the British schools in Hong Kong where Liz was a substitute teacher.

Before returning to the U.S., the Hochberger family spent one year in Australia. They lived at McLeod Eco Farm off the coast of Melbourne. This is a working organic farm that also has accomadation. You can read more about McLeod Eco Farm at .

When faced with the decision of where to live in America, Liz and Fred decided to return to the Boston area to be near family. They researched many different towns and decided that Weston, because of its superb school system, was a perfect match. They moved to Weston in 2001 and have lived here happily ever after!!!

Liz has worked extensively in many volunteer positions in the Town of Weston including two terms as the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) president, Board member of the Council on Aging, trustee of the Weston Metco Scholarship Fund Committee, board member of the Weston Historical Society, and the Weston 300 Committee celebrating 300 years of the town's history.
